Cause of Fire That Injured Two Dozen People in Flushing, Queens Remains Under Investigation

FLUSHING, QUEENS (August 3, 2026) – One person has tragically died and two dozen people were injured in a Flushing, Queens apartment fire on 41st Road near College Point Boulevard.

New York City officials are saying that the incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Residents reportedly tried to put out the fire as firefighters rushed to the scene.

One person reportedly died due to their injuries. At least two dozen other people sustained various injuries ranging from sprains to smoke inhalation.

A full investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
