BRONX, NEW YORK (November 24, 2025) – At least seven firefighters were injured in a Bronx car explosion on a sidewalk between Intervale Avenue and Kelly Street.
New York City officials are saying that the accident took place around 7 PM on Wednesday. Firefighters were called to the scene of a vehicle that was on fire.

A full investigation into the cause of the vehicle explosion remains ongoing at this time.
Vehicle fires may seem like a freak occurrence. But these events are actually quite common. According to the National Fire Protection Association, “Vehicle fires in the US accounted for approximately 16 percent of the total reported fire incidents from 2018–2022. These fires are estimated to have caused more civilian deaths than nonresidential structure fires and residential apartment fires.” It is important that certain actions are taken after any car fire.
Depending on the facts of any case, there could be numerous liable parties for any accident where a vehicle explodes. This includes the manufacturer of the vehicle. The company that manufactured a vehicle may be liable if a vehicle explosion was caused by some type of design defect. The victims of vehicle fires may be able to seek some measure of accountability and justice through a personal injury claim. A personal injury attorney can examine the facts of your case and let you know how much compensation you may be entitled to.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to all of the people who were injured in this Bronx vehicle fire. It is our hope that they will be able to make a full recovery. There needs to be a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire in the first place.
