Multiple Injured in Southampton Head-On Car Accident

One Driver Airlifted to Hospital to Receive Treatment for Severe Injuries

SOUTHAMPTON, NEW YORK (August 7, 2026) – Three people were injured in a Southampton head-on car accident on Noyac Road near Lohan Court in North Sea.

Long Island police officials are saying that the accident occurred around 6:50 AM on July 22. A 2024 Ford F150 was involved in a head-on collision with a 2018 Ford van.

Paramedics responded to the scene of the collision to help all of the injured victims. The driver of the van had to be extricated from his vehicle before being transported to Stony Brook University Hospital.

That driver was reportedly listed in severe condition. The road where the collision took place was closed for roughly 3 hours as investigators continue to piece together what happens.

Liability for Southampton Head-On Collisions

Negligence claims involving car accidents will typically hinge on whether or not a driver breached their duty of care to other road users. In particular, drivers are expected to maintain within a single lane of traffic and not move unless it’s safe to do so. According to New York Vehicle Code NY Veh & Traf L § 1128, “A vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practicable entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from such lane until the driver has first ascertained that such movement can be made with safety.” Victims of head-on collisions tend to suffer very serious injuries.

  • Broken bones
  • Head injuries
  • Lacerations
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Organ damage

There is a presumption of negligence on the part of any person that collides head-on with another vehicle after exiting their own lane of traffic. These types of collisions are nearly always the result of drivers that are speeding or committing some other traffic infraction. This is why it is so important that drivers remain vigilant and constantly scan the road ahead of them. Victims of car accidents may be able to pursue monetary damages for their injuries through a civil action.
