Multiple Injured in Box Truck Collision During Manhattan Film Shoot

Two Workers Injured During Manhattan Film Shoot After Box Truck Struck Equipment

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (July 3, 2026) – Two men were injured in a Manhattan box truck accident during some type of film shoot by West Houston Street and Sullivan Street.

New York City officials are saying that the crash took place around 6:02 AM on Monday. A box truck was involved in a collision with equipment.

One of the victims reportedly lost their balance after the collision and fell to the ground. Another victim on the ground was struck by the falling lift.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help all of the victims. The two injured workers were transported to a local area hospital to receive treatment.

A full investigation by authorities remains ongoing.

Liability for Manhattan Film Shoot Accidents

Accidents during film shoots remain far too common. According to The Los Angeles Times, “Overall, at least 47 fatalities have occurred among 250 film production accidents since 1990, according to data reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which tracks serious workplace accidents in the United States that have been reported to the agency.” Production companies should take several actions to prevent accidents during film shoots.

  • Film companies should conduct a film-specific risk assessment before they begin shooting.
  • Some companies should hire qualified safety officers to oversee the production.
  • Film companies should hold safety meetings before they begin filming hazardous scenes.

If a film company in New York fails to take reasonable measures to protect workers, this could serve as evidence of negligence. In particular, a production company could be liable for an accident under New York Labor Law 200. This is a qualification of an employer’s general responsibility to maintain work sites in a reasonably safe condition. Any person injured in an accident during a film shoot may be able to seek some measure of accountability through a personal injury claim.
