MTA Bus Involved in Deadly Bronx Motorcycle Accident

NYPD Investigating Deadly MTA Bus Accident in Bedford Park, Bronx, Close to Tracey Towers

BRONX, NEW YORK (June 1, 2026) – A 32 year-old motorcyclist has tragically died in an MTA bus accident in Bedford Park at West Mosholu Parkway South and Jerome Avenue.

New York City officials are saying that the accident took place on Wednesday evening. An MTA bus was heading through the intersection when it was involved in the collision with the motorcyclist.

The force of the impact not the motorcycle rider to the ground, leaving them critically injured in the process. Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash to help the victim.

Sadly, the motorcycle rider was later pronounced dead at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Belmont.

According to one report from the New York Post, “At least 2,520 people — or 2.7 per day — were injured [from 2015 – 2018], according to the MTA. • Bus drivers should continuously scan the road ahead of them for motorcycles and other potential hazards.
• Bus drivers should abstain from alcohol and other intoxicating substances.
