Liability In Buffalo Motorcycle Accidents

Thousands of people are killed or seriously injured every year in motorcycle accidents. According to the CDC, “Every year there are thousands of deaths and injuries to motorcyclists involved in crashes. More than 5,500 motorcyclists died on our nation’s roads in 2020, and more than 180,000 were treated in emergency departments for crash injuries. The economic costs of these injuries and deaths are significant.” There are a number of steps that should be taken after any motorcycle accident.

  • Eye witnesses should be interviewed
  • Medical records should be preserved.
  • Photos of the accident site should be taken.
  • An investigation should be conducted.

Any driver intending to make a left turn must first yield the right of way to a driver that is close enough so as to pose a hazard. If a driver makes an abrupt left turn in front of another driver, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. The family of any person killed in a car accident may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover many of the expenses that can come with the sudden loss of a loved one.
