SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK (August 28, 2026) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a Suffolk County car accident along Glen Road by Pulaski Road.
Suffolk County officials are saying that the collision occurred around 9:20 PM on Friday. A 2023 Jeep Gladiator was turning right onto Pulaski Road when it collided with a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling eastbound.
The motorcyclist was unable to avoid the collision and hit the side of the Jeep. He was thrown from his vehicle and seriously injured after hitting the roadway.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash to help the victim. He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital to receive treatment.
New York drivers are expected to operate their vehicles with the care necessary to avoid collisions. New York Vehicle and Traffic Law § 1163 Requires that any driver attempting to make a left or right turn must yield the right of way to oncoming vehicles and only initiate the turn when it can be made with reasonable safety. There are many factors to consider when evaluating liability for a car accident.
If a driver fails to slow down to avoid colliding with any people or property, this could be construed as negligence. Liability for a motorcycle collision could potentially extend to several parties. This includes the owner of a car if that person is separate from the driver of the vehicle. Victims of car accidents are able to seek some measure of accountability through a civil claim.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to the motorcyclist injured in this collision. It is our hope he will be able to make a full recovery. Any person that may have more information is encouraged to reach out to the police. There needs to be a thorough investigation into all of the factors that may have contributed to what happened.
