Driver Made Left Turn Directly Into Path of Motorcyclist Prior to Saint James Collision Along Middle Country Road
SAINT JAMES, NEW YORK (May 30, 2026) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a Saint James car accident along Middle Country Lane.
Suffolk County officials are saying that the accident took place around 7:05 p.m. on May 17. A Honda Pilot made a left turn into the path of a motorcyclist.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash to help the victim. He was taken to the hospital to receive treatment.
A full investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.
Drivers have a legal obligation to use caution to avoid colliding with other vehicles. They must be particularly cautious when making left turns. Pursuant to New York Vehicle Code 1141, “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection or into an alley, private road, or driveway shall yield the right of way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close as to constitute an immediate hazard.” Multiple actions should be taken after any motorcycle accident.
If a driver makes a left turn into the path of another vehicle, this could serve as evidence of negligence. There is a presumption of negligence on the part of any driver that enters into the path of another vehicle. Any person injured due to the negligent actions of a driver is able to seek some measure of accountability through a personal injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills, and pain and suffering.
We at GLK Law extend our best wishes to the person injured in this Saint James car accident. It is our sincere hope that they will be able to make a full recovery. There needs to be a thorough investigation into what went wrong.
