Investigation Underway After Man Killed in East Meadow Collision Along Hempstead Turnpike by Franklin Avenue

EAST MEADOW, NEW YORK (May 31, 2026) – A man has tragically died in an East Meadow pedestrian collision along the Hempstead Turnpike by Franklin Avenue.

New York State Police are saying that the collision took place around 8:30 p.m. on Friday. A pedestrian was trying to cross the roadway when they were hit by a 2014 Toyota Camry.

That driver remained at the scene of the crash. Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash to help the victim.

Sadly, that person was pronounced dead at the scene.
