Man Critically Injured After Williamsbridge Car Accident

NYPD Investigating Major Williamsbridge Collision By the Intersection of Boston Road and Corsa Avenue

WILLIAMSBRIDGE, BRONX (September 1, 2026) – A 53-year-old man was critically injured in a Williamsbridge car accident near the intersection of Boston Road and Corsa Avenue.

New York City officials are saying that the collision occurred around 11:54 PM on Friday night. A man was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a Nissan Ultima driven by a 31-year-old woman.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the collision to help the innocent victim. He sustained major head and body injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Liability for Williamsbridge Car Accidents

Drivers in New York have a legal obligation to use reasonable care to avoid colliding with pedestrians that they encounter. Under New York’s Vehicle and Traffic Law § 1146, “every driver of a vehicle shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with any bicyclist, pedestrian, or domestic animal upon any roadway and shall give warning by sounding the horn when necessary.” Multiple steps should be taken after any pedestrian collision.

  • The police should be called to the scene as early as possible so that they can begin investigating.
  • Photos of the accident site should be taken.
  • Surveillance footage that may have captured the crash should be sought.
  • Victims should consider their legal options with an experienced attorney.

Pedestrian accidents tend to be highly preventable in most settings. They often involve drivers that were speeding or otherwise failing to abide by traffic regulations. Unfortunately, negligent drivers and their insurance providers are not likely to accept responsibility when a pedestrian is seriously injured. This is why it is so important for victims to consider their legal options with an experienced attorney.
