Elderly Woman Died In Brooklyn Car Accident

Female Pedestrian, 79, Died After Being Pinned Against Wall Following Car Accident in East Flatbush, Brooklyn

EAST FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN (August 1, 2026) – A 79-year-old woman has tragically died in an East Flatbush, Brooklyn car accident by the intersection of Rutland Road and E. 92nd St.

New York City officials are saying that the accident occurred around 1:30 PM on Friday. A woman was walking when she was hit by a Lexus making a right turn.

That vehicle reportedly entered onto the sidewalk before hitting the victim and pinning her against the wall. EMS were called to the scene of the collision to help the injured woman.

She was taken to a local area hospital to receive treatment for critical injuries. Sadly, she was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

A full investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.
