Dr Maurizio Miglietta Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges in Manhattan Apartment

Dr. Maurizio Miglietta, a Professor of Surgery at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, Charged With Sexually Assaulting Woman at Gunpoint

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (November 3, 2025) – A well-known surgeon identified as Dr. Maurizio Miglietta has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint inside of his Manhattan apartment.

New York City officials are saying that the defendant worked as a professor of surgery at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was also an honorary police surgeon for the NYPD.

Dr. Maurizio Miglietta met the alleged victim through some type of networking event. She went to his apartment in the Financial District to talk about business ventures.

The defendant allegedly kissed her without consent and displayed a firearm when she tried to push him away. Prosecutors allege that Dr. Maurizio Miglietta sexually assaulted the woman before she was eventually able to escape.

He has since pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
