Liability for New Jersey Garbage Truck Accident

Car accidents are one of the major causes of preventable injury and death for workers in the United States. According to the National Safety Council, “Roadway incidents may occur on any part of publicly maintained traffic ways intended for motorized land vehicle travel, including travel lanes, shoulders, medians, and adjoining publicly maintained areas designated for vehicles (e.g., runaway truck ramp, weigh station, toll areas).” There are several factors that could contribute to any car accident.

  • Speeding
  • Distracted driving
  • Inclement weather
  • Poor road conditions

If a driver fails to slow down to avoid hitting any pedestrians in the roadway, this could serve as evidence of negligence. There is simply no excuse for any driver to collide with a stopped service vehicle. Workers that are injured in car accidents are able to seek some measure of accountability through a workers’ compensation claim. A personal injury attorney can examine the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
