Asia Oliver Accused of Child Sexual Abuse at Baldwin Daycare

Asia Oliver, 27, Suspected of Sexually Abusing Two Young Boys at Learn and Play Center in Baldwin

BALDWIN, NEW YORK (August 14, 2026) – A 27-year-old daycare employee at the Learn and Play Center identified as Asia Oliver has been arrested on child sexual abuse charges.

Nassau County officials are saying that the defendant was arrested on Thursday. Asia Oliver is accused of inappropriately touching two young boys while she was working.

The prosecutor said that both of the victims were under the age of 14. She appeared before a judge on Friday morning.

Neighbors that learned of the allegations said that they were shocked. The alleged incident took place during the month of July.

Asia Oliver is no longer working at the facility. A full investigation into all of the allegations remains ongoing at this time.

Liability for Sexual Abuse at New York Daycares

Daycare owners in New York have a legal obligation to protect children in their care from reasonably foreseeable sources of harm. Business necessitates that they adequately supervise those children at all times and maintain appropriate oversight of all staff members. Under 18 NYCRR § 418-1.8, children of any licensed daycare cannot be left without adequate supervision. It is important that several steps are taken after any child is abused in a daycare setting.

  • The abuse should be reported to the authorities as early as possible.
  • All reports of misconduct involving the perpetrator from the facility should be sought.
  • Eyewitnesses should be interviewed as soon as possible.
  • Parents should seek the guidance of an experienced personal injury attorney.

When a daycare fails to provide appropriate oversight that leads to abuse of a child, they can be held legally responsible through a civil action. Unfortunately, daycares are not likely to admit fault when a child is harmed while in their care. This is why it’s so important that these incidents are investigated by an outside party. The parents of any child harmed at a daycare may have legal recourse through a civil claim.
