Bronx Apartment Fire That Injured 10 People Blamed on Lithium-Ion Battery

BRONX, NEW YORK (May 31, 2024) – At least 10 people were injured in a three-alarm fire at a Bronx apartment building, according to the FDNY.

New York City police officials are saying that the incident took place around 2:20 p.m. on Monday. A fire broke out in the building on the first floor.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the fire in order to help all of the victims. A total of 10 people were injured.

Investigators believe that the fire was caused by lithium-ion batteries in e-bikes. A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
