Firefighters and first responders were called to the Casablanca petroleum barge at 3249 Richmond Terrace after getting reports of a fire.Over 50 units responded to the scene along with a hazmat team. Two firefighters were injured while putting out the blaze.Sadly, one of the workers on the petroleum barge was reportedly found deceased. A full investigation into the cause of the explosion remains ongoing at this time.Liability for Accidents at Petroleum BargesEmployers in Illinois have a legal obligation to maintain their worksites in a reasonably safe condition.
