Liability For Rome Workplace Accidents
Thousands of workers are killed or seriously injured every year in the United States. According to OSHA, “4,764 workers died on the job in 2020 (3.4 per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers). Workers in transportation and material moving occupations and construction and extraction occupations accounted for nearly half of all fatal occupational injuries (47.4 percent), representing 1,282 and 976 workplace deaths, respectively.” There are a number of steps that companies should take to protect workers.
- Workers should get fall protection when working above 6 feet.
- Workers should be properly trained to be able to identify hazards.
- Machines should have guards to protect workers.
According to New York Labor Law 200, companies must maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition. When a construction company fails to follow OSHA regulations and creates an unsafe environment for their workers, they could be liable in the event of an accident. Any worker that is injured could seek damages through a civil claim. A personal injury attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
