Liability For Queens Car Accidents
Speeding remains one of the most common causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the NHTSA, “Speeding endangers everyone on the road: In 2020, speeding killed 11,258 people. We all know the frustrations of modern life and juggling a busy schedule, but speed limits are put in place to protect all road users.” There are a number of steps that should be taken after any car accident.
- Eye witnesses should be interviewed.
- Medical records should be reviewed.
- Surveillance footage should be sought.
- A thorough, independent investigation should be conducted.
The family of any person that is killed due to the negligence of another driver may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. Sadly, though, drivers will often fight hard to deny liability for any collision. A wrongful death attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
