Liability For Brooklyn Car Accidents

All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care in order to avoid pedestrians and scooter riders. Pursuant to New York Vehicle & Traffic Law § 1180, no person is allowed to operate a motor vehicle faster than what would be prudent or safe given the prevailing conditions of the roadway. Victims of scooter accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries including:

  • Broken bones
  • Head injuries
  • Lacerations
  • Spinal cord injuries

It can be hard to know what to do after any car accident. To make matters worse, drivers will do everything that they can to deny liability if they injure someone. The family of any person that died in a scooter accident may have legal recourse through a civil claim. A personal injury attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
