Liability Ford Bedford Park Pedestrian Accidents
Speeding remains one of the leading causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the National Safety Council, “Speeding was a factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2020, killing 11,258, or an average of over 30 people per day. The total number of fatal motor-vehicle crashes attributable to speeding was 10,136.” There are a number of situations where a driver may need to travel below the speed limit.
- Drivers need to slow down during inclement weather.
- Drivers need to slow down during heavy pedestrian traffic.
- Drivers need to slow down at night.
All drivers must exercise due care in order to avoid hitting pedestrians. If a driver fails to reduce their speed to avoid a pedestrian, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. Any person that is injured in a pedestrian collision may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. A pedestrian accident attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your options are.
