Liability For Marion Street Sweeper Accidents

Driving a commercial vehicle like a street sweeper can be very difficult. Many collisions occur when truck drivers make dangerous lane changes. Pursuant to New York VTL § 1128, a driver may not change their lane unless they have first ascertained that it is safe to do so. If a street sweeper driver makes a dangerous lane change in front of another vehicle, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. There are many other factors that could lead to a collision.

  • Distracted driving
  • Inclement weather
  • Poor road conditions
  • Speeding

The vast majority of collisions are preventable. In some circumstances, there may be more than one liable party. It is important for accident victims and their families to understand that they do have rights. The family of any person that died in a car accident may be able to seek some measure of justice through a wrongful death claim.
