Liability For Lake Huntington Car Accidents

Speeding remains one of the leading causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the NHTSA, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities. In 2020, speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.” There are a number of other factors that could contribute to a collision including:

  • Distracted driving
  • Inclement weather
  • Driver fatigue
  • Poor road conditions

All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care in order to avoid collisions. The family of any person that is killed in a car accident may have legal recourse through a wrongful death claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover many of the expenses that come with the sudden loss of a loved one. It is important that all evidence is preserved after a collision.
