Liability For Harrisville Garbage Truck Accidents

Thousands of collisions involve tire failures. According to one report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2019 alone 612 people died in tire-related crashes. Thousands more are left with serious injuries. One of the best ways to prevent tire blowouts is to perform proper maintenance on tires. For example, tires should be properly inflated to the correct level. There are many steps that companies should take in order to prevent tire blowouts.

  • The tires on trucks should be regularly maintained.
  • Vehicles should be periodically inspected.
  • Drivers should be trained how to handle tire blowouts.

Depending on the facts of any case, the company responsible for creating a tire could be liable for a tire blowout. Companies have a legal responsibility to create products that are reasonably safe. Many tire accidents happen when the outer portion of a tire becomes separated from the inner tread due to a failure in the chemical bonding process. It is important that evidence is properly collected after any tire blowout.

  • Eye witnesses should be interviewed.
  • Medical records should be preserved.
  • Surveillance footage should be sought.
  • A thorough investigation should be conducted.
