Liability For Camillus Car Accidents
Thousands of people are killed or seriously injured in car accidents involving drunk drivers. According to the NHTSA, “Every day, about 32 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes — that’s one person every 45 minutes. In 2020, 11,654 people died in alcohol-impaired driving traffic deaths — a 14% increase from 2019. These deaths were all preventable.” Victims of DUI accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries including:
- Broken bones
- Head injuries
- Lacerations
- Spinal cord injuries
Oddly enough, people who are intoxicated are less likely to be injured when they crash. Any person that is injured in a car accident with a drunk driver may have legal recourse through a civil claim. Damages can help cover many of the expenses that come with a serious injury. A personal injury attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
