Michael Chessa joined Gersowitz, Libo & Korek P.C. in March of 2015. Mr. Chessa brings with him a wealth of trial and litigation experience. Before joining the office, Mr. Chessa served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn. During his tenure at the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Chessa prosecuted both felonies and misdemeanors, serving as lead counsel in numerous jury and bench trials, indicting hundreds of cases before the Grand Jury, and conducting pre-trial hearings.
Prior to law school Mr. Chessa worked as an assistant editor for a best-selling New York Times columnist. When Mr. Chessa first moved to New York City he was accepted into the Teaching Fellows program and worked as a middle school teacher in East New York, Brooklyn. Mr. Chessa received his B.A. from the University of Colorado in 2000, and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2010. Mr. Chessa is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
