The construction worker was in some type of underground area near Ring Road when a water main broke and submerged him.EMS and rescue workers were called to the scene of the accident as quickly as possible. The worker was eventually extricated from the location and life-saving measures were administered to him before he was transported to a local hospital.Unfortunately, he was beyond medical aid and later pronounced deceased by a physician. A full investigation by OSHA remains ongoing.Liability for East Garden City Construction AccidentsNew York’s Labor Law \u00a7 241(6)\u00a0requires owners and contractors\u00a0to maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition that provides for the safety of workers and adheres to industrial codes. This is a nondelegable duty, so owners are not able to evade legal responsibility even if it was not work that they personally supervised.
