The attorneys at Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C., in collaboration with The Gardiner Foundation, provided 33 children and their parents with a memorable Martin Luther King’s Day by providing tickets to the New York Knicks v. Atlanta Hawks game on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at “the world’s most famous arena.” Madison Square Garden. This experience was unforgettable for most of these children because it was their first time attending The Garden.
The children not only enjoyed the game but also got a swag bag filled with Knick t-shirts and other Knick memorabilia. The children were accompanied by Dexter Gardiner, founder of The Gardiner Foundation, which was established to provide emotional and financial support to families who have experienced the unexpected and tragic loss of a loved one.
The group of children was selected from individuals who are involved in the mentoring program “true-talk.” The youth mentoring program is geared towards inner city children who are dealing with problems of drugs, sex, violence, and guns. These children are provided with emotional and mental counseling needed to overcome the obstacles of everyday life in the South Bronx.
This annual event is made possible by the efforts of Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C.
