Liability For Madrid Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcyclists are uniquely vulnerable in collisions. According to the National Safety Council, “Although motorcycles make up only 3% of all registered vehicles and 0.6% of all vehicle miles traveled in the United States, motorcyclists accounted for 14% of all traffic fatalities, 18% of all occupant fatalities, and 4% of all occupant injuries in 2020.” Victims of motorcycle accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries including:
- Broken bones
- Head injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
Many collisions are caused by drivers that follow other vehicles too closely. Pursuant to New York Vehicle & Traffic Law § 1129(a), “The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway.” Any person that is injured in a car accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
