Liability In Burke Head-On Car Accidents

Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of accidents that a person can be involved in. They account for only around 2% of all collisions but over 11% of all traffic fatalities. A large number of head-on collisions are due to speeding. Drivers are far more likely to lose control of their vehicles when they are speeding. There are many other factors that could lead to a car accident including:

  • Drunk driving
  • Inclement weather
  • Distracted driving
  • Poor road conditions

All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care in order to avoid accidents.  There is a rebuttable presumption of negligence on the part of any driver that crossed into opposing lanes of traffic prior to a crash. Any person that is injured in a head-on collision may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. A car accident attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
