MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (May 11, 2023) – At least 20 people were injured in a Manhattan car accident after an Uber drove into a restaurant by Broadway.

New York City police officials are saying that the accident took place on Monday night. An Uber crashed into an outdoor dining area after it was hit by an Audi.

The driver of the Audi fled the scene and is currently being sought by police. Firefighters and paramedics were called to the collision in order to help all of the victims.

Over 20 people were injured in the crash and numerous people required hospitalization. A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.

Liability For Manhattan Uber Accidents

As companies like Uber and Lyft have continued to grow, so to have the number of rideshare related collisions. According to Science, one recent study “concludes that the arrival of ride-sharing was associated with a 2% to 3% increase in the number of car occupants and pedestrians killed in accidents between 2011 and 2016.” There are a number of factors that could contribute to a car accident.
