Liability For Watertown Car Accidents
Inclement weather is one of the leading causes of car accidents in the United States. According to the Department of Transportation, “On average, there are over 5,891,000 vehicle crashes each year. Approximately 21% of these crashes – nearly 1,235,000 – are weather-related.” There are a number of steps that can be taken to prevent weather related accidents.
- It may be best not to be on the road during very intense weather.
- If a driver must be on the road during a storm, they should slow down as much as possible.
- Drivers may need to install chains on their tires during heavy snow and ice conditions.
Semi-trucks can be particularly dangerous during snowstorms. They are already difficult to control in the best of circumstances. All semi-truck drivers must exercise due care to avoid hitting other vehicles. The company that a truck driver worked for could potentially be held at fault for a collision. Any person that is injured in a company may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
