Liability In Rochester Car Accidents
Speeding is by far one of the most common contributing factors for car accidents in the United States. According to the NHTSA, “For more than two decades, speeding has been involved in approximately one-third of all motor vehicle fatalities. In 2020, speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all traffic fatalities.” There are many other factors that could contribute to a car accident including:
- Distracted driving
- Inclement weather
- Poor road conditions
- Driver fatigue
All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care in order to avoid causing accidents. If a driver fails to reduce their speed in order to avoid a collision, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. Any person that is injured due to the negligence of another driver may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim. A car accident attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
