A $490,000 settlement was won on behalf of a pair of sisters who sustained injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Coney Island Avenue in Kings County. One of the passengers, a 30 year-old woman suffered a fractured clavicle necessitating surgical repair, fractured ribs, head injury resulting in severe headaches and memory loss, back pain, and the inability to use her right arm while the other passenger, a 29 year-old woman suffered head and back injuries.

TRIP AND FALL
Trip and Fall / Medical Malpractice
A $3,400,000 verdict was won on behalf of a 58 year-old business man who tripped and fell on a sidewalk, causing a bimalleolar fracture/dislocation of his right ankle. He underwent an open internal fixation of his right ankle at New York University Medical Center. Upon discharge he developed a gangrene infection in his lower right extremity which ultimately required a below the knee amputation of his right leg. A $280,000 settlement was won on behalf of a cab driver who fell while walking down the interior stairway of his building due to the landlord's negligence and failure to repair a broken step. He suffered a broken elbow that resulted in the need for a plate and six screws that he still has in his arm.

A settlement in the amount of $175,000 was reached in Bronx County on behalf of a 40 year-old woman who fell down a staircase as a result of plaster and debris that was allowed to accumulate on the stairs. There was also insufficient lighting in the stairwell. The woman suffered a fractured humerus and a partial tear of her left rotator cuff as a result of her fall. Managing Partner Andrew L. A settlement was reached in the amount of $95,000 in Bronx County on behalf of a 58 year-old woman who tripped and fell at a store as a result of a sudden steep deep grade differential/step at the premises. Police Officer
A $1,569,000 verdict was won on behalf of a 30 year-old officer of the New York City Police Department who slipped and fell as a result of substandard flooding conditions in the precinct where he was newly assigned. The injuries effectively ended his career as a police officer. He tore the anterior cruciate ligament; the medial and lateral menisci, necessitating two surgeries. Senior Trial Attorney Jeff S. A $1,300,000 settlement was won on behalf of a family of a 42 year-old carpenter who was misdiagnosed with stomach cancer by a Long Island HIP Group.
